Loading ...Construction of Regal Princess began August 2012 at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy when the ship's keel was laid. Regal Princess Float Out Ceremony was conducted on 26 March 2013 and was floated free from the builder's dry dock on 29 March 2013 then moored alongside the outfitting pier where construction would continue.
Regal Princess successfully completed her sea trials in the Adriatic Sea from 16-21 April 2014 and conducted a 4-night Pre-Inaugural cruise 16-20 May 2014 from Trieste, Italy to Kotor, Montenegro prior to her Maiden Voyage which departed Venice, Italy on 20 May 2014.
The vessel operated its inaugural season in the Mediterranean before departing Venice, Italy on 17 Oct 2014 when she headed for Fort Lauderdale, FL arriving 3 Nov 2014. Regal Princess had her official Naming Ceremony in Fort Lauderdale, in the presence of the six main stars of the television series The Love Boat, the ship's godparents.
