Starting MapleStory Classic World with the right AP and SP allocation can make your early leveling much smoother. Whether you're building a Bowman, Warrior, Thief, or Magician, putting points in the wrong stats can slow down your progression and increase your potion costs. This guide covers the recommended First Job builds based on available test data, while also helping players manage their early-game resources. If you want extra funds for gear, potions, or grinding, you can also check out MapleStory Classic World Mesos.
Beginners have the easiest setup. From Levels 1–10, put your AP into the primary stat of the class you plan to become:
Warrior: STR
Bowman: DEX
Thief: LUK
Magician: INT
For SP, prioritize Nimble Feet, Three Snails, and Recovery. You do not need to over-invest in Three Snails early, since Level 2 is enough for most tutorial enemies.
Bowmen mainly need DEX, while STR is used for weapon requirements. Add STR only when necessary and put the remaining AP into DEX. Equipment bonuses can also help meet STR requirements.
For skills, Arrow Blow and Double Shot are both viable. Arrow Blow is particularly attractive for early grinding because it has better range and lower MP consumption. A practical progression is to prioritize Arrow Blow, then Critical Shot and Eye of the Amazon.
Warriors should put most AP into STR, adding DEX when needed for accuracy or equipment requirements. Gear bonuses should be considered before investing additional points into DEX.
For SP, focus on Power Strike, Slash Blast, and Precise Strike. Max HP Increase and Improved HP Recovery are also useful, while Iron Body can be skipped in this build.
Your skill order can change depending on where you grind. If accuracy is a problem, invest in Precise Strike earlier. If you're fighting groups of enemies, Slash Blast can become a higher priority.
Thieves rely heavily on LUK, while DEX is mainly needed for claw requirements. A simple approach is to add DEX whenever you reach the requirement for your next claw and put the rest of your AP into LUK.
For SP, the Lucky Seven build is a strong option for early progression. Prioritize Keen Eyes and Lucky Seven before building Nimble Body and Dark Sight.
A dagger-focused Double Stab build is also possible, but it creates a more melee-oriented leveling experience and sacrifices the ranged damage of Lucky Seven.
Magicians should prioritize INT and only add LUK when required for their next wand or staff. Equipment bonuses can reduce the amount of base LUK you need.
For skills, Energy Bolt and Magic Claw are the main choices. Energy Bolt offers better MP efficiency and range, which can be valuable during the early grind when potion costs add up quickly.
A common progression focuses on Energy Bolt, Magic Guard, Magic Armor, and Max MP Increase. Players who take very little damage may instead prefer investing more into MP Recovery.
Early MapleStory Classic World progression can require plenty of Mesos for potions, equipment, ammunition, and other necessities. MMOEXP offers MapleStory Classic World Mesos for players looking for an additional way to prepare their characters. The site currently lists MapleStory Classic World Mesos among its available game services.
If you decide to use MMOEXP, enter the discount code pizza at checkout to receive 8% off. The discount is advertised as a lifetime 8% discount, making the code useful beyond a single purchase.
Choosing the right First Job build in MapleStory Classic World is less about blindly following one perfect setup and more about understanding when to invest in primary stats, equipment requirements, accuracy, and MP efficiency. Since the game is still subject to changes before release, these builds should be treated as a practical starting point rather than permanent rules. For players who want additional resources for their early grind, MapleStory Classic Mesos can also help prepare for the costs of leveling, gear upgrades, and consumables.
