Spent three raids checking random toolboxes and still no Rusted Gears? Same. The smartest route for a rusted gears arc raiders location starts with knowing which industrial zones actually pay off, not just sprinting toward every shiny crate; I usually pair that with checking ARC Raiders BluePrint references so I know which upgrades are worth chasing first. Bad routes waste ammo, time, and patience.
The Primary Facility on Dam Battlegrounds is still the route I would recommend first for most players. Rusted Gears count as industrial parts, and this central hub has the right kind of loot density: cabinets, crates, work areas, and enough industrial clutter to make each run feel worthwhile.
The catch is obvious after one visit. Everyone knows it is good. Expect footsteps, third-party fights, and ARC pressure near the middle of the facility. If you are running solo, do not overstay. Grab, check, leave. Greed gets people deleted here.
North of the main Dam action, Power Generation Complex is my preferred backup rusted gears arc raiders location when I am not trying to fight half the lobby. The rarity ceiling feels lower than Primary Facility, but the lower traffic makes it easier to reset after a bad spawn.
Honestly, this is the better route for Free Loadout runs. You are not risking premium gear, and if Rusted Gears show up early, you extract immediately instead of pretending you are suddenly a hero.
Spaceport can produce industrial parts in Vehicle Maintenance, Container Storage, and Rocket Assembly, but those central zones are nasty. Advanced ARC units, player traffic, and awkward sightlines make them expensive places to loot. Go prepared or do not go at all.
For lower risk, try the Shipping Warehouse near Arrival Building. On Blue Gate, focus on The Checkpoint edges, Outer Gates, and Adorned Wreckage. I would avoid forcing the main gate unless you enjoy meeting Leapers and Bastions at the worst possible moment.
Rusted Gears do not have a public drop percentage, which is annoying but expected. What you can control is timing. Hurricane and Electromagnetic Storm conditions are the best windows for tech and industrial farming. Night Raids can raise general loot quality, though the exact multiplier is still unclear.
Cold Snap is useful if you want to combine industrial farming with biological pickups like Candleberries. That said, I would not chase mixed routes unless you genuinely need both. Split-focus farming looks efficient on paper and messy in a real raid.
1) Queue Dam Battlegrounds during Hurricane or Electromagnetic Storm if available. Spawn-check your distance from Primary Facility before committing.
2) If you are close, hit the central industrial rooms fast. If you are far or hear heavy fighting early, rotate to Power Generation Complex instead.
3) Extract after finding Rusted Gears. Do not keep looting “just one more building” unless your backpack is still nearly empty. That sentence has ended more raids than ARC fire.
| Route | Loot Potential | Risk | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary Facility | High | High | Fast geared farming |
| Power Generation Complex | Medium | Medium to low | Solo Free Loadouts |
| Shipping Warehouse | Medium | Medium | Safer Spaceport runs |
One common mistake is assuming every industrial-looking requirement needs a specific ARC enemy. Turbine Compressors, for example, can appear in standard industrial crates, so fighting ARC Turbines is not mandatory. Painful lesson, but useful.
Red Coral Jewelry and other trinkets are a separate farming lane. If you are doing Avian Alarm, Buried City spots like Santa Maria Houses, Grandioso Apartments, and Plaza Rosa matter more than Dam routes. Bird City conditions can turn chimney checks into absurdly fast trinket runs.
Patch 1.28.0 added the Third Expedition Global Event and opened final caravan equipment upgrades. The Rust Belt also pushed players toward more blueprint scavenging for base development. There is still some debate about how much this changes day-to-day Rusted Gears demand, but upgrade bottlenecks usually push industrial routes back into popularity.
Side note here: the missing skill point bug tied to expeditions has been fixed, with manual restoration still rolling out. If your build feels off, check that before blaming your route.
Your next raid should be boring on purpose: pick one rusted gears arc raiders location, run it under a good condition, and leave the second the item drops; if you also track upgrade needs through cheap ARC Raiders BluePrint listings, you will waste fewer raids chasing parts you do not need yet. Clean farming beats dramatic farming almost every time.
