Germany faced a far more difficult challenge in their second group match, defeating Ivory Coast 21 in Toronto.

Ivory Coast took the lead through Franck Kessi, exploiting defensive gaps and putting Germany under sustained pressure in the first half https://www.goalforgermany.com/collections/blank-jersey.

The match changed after tactical substitutions by Julian Nagelsmann in the second half, including the introduction of Deniz Undav.

Undav scored twice, including a stoppage-time winner, turning the match around and securing Germanys second consecutive victory.

The result confirmed Germanys place in the knockout stage with one match remaining.
