Most raids, the hardest part of getting Bastion Cells isn't the fight, it's the search. A lot of players burn time chasing a "spawn point" that doesn't really exist, then panic when a Bombardier shows up instead. Bastions move, and they move with purpose. If you're also juggling upgrades and loadouts, it helps to plan around what you actually need, including the odd bits tied to ARC Raiders BluePrint, so you're not leaving a raid empty-handed after a long hike across the map.
Think of a Bastion like a roaming guard for resource-heavy lanes. It likes big sightlines, broad roads, open yards, and anything that feels like an industrial "backbone" of the map. You'll hear it before you see it, too. Heavy steps, that low mechanical churn, then the minigun spin that makes you stop looting and start counting exits. The common mistake is committing to one area and waiting. Don't. Build a loop. Check two or three likely patrol zones, then rotate. If it hasn't appeared by the time you've cleared your circuit, odds are it's not in that raid.
If you want efficiency, Spaceport is the workhorse. Start by sweeping the container yards, then cut through the rocket assembly fields, then loop the outer logistics lanes. The map's compact enough that you can do this without feeling like you're sprinting a marathon. Stella Montis is a different story. The lower Loading Bay is the closest thing the game has to a "known" Bastion presence, but it's also an advert to every squad in the lobby. Go in expecting company. Clear angles first, listen for footsteps, and don't start the Bastion fight with your back to the only staircase.
For a first Bastion, The Blue Gate is kinder. The Outer Gates and the Headhouse give you real cover and clean disengage paths. The patrol tends to stay near tunnels and warehouse edges, so you can keep hard cover between you and the gun. Buried City is the opposite. It's loud, cramped, and full of players who'd rather third-party than farm. If you have to fight there, take height early, work rooftops, and don't drop into street level unless you're finishing. Dam Battlegrounds sits in the middle: you can spot the Bastion from far out near the swampy stretches or domes, but the lack of solid cover makes solos pay for every reload.
Once you stop treating Bastions like stationary bosses, the whole thing gets easier. Pick a route, stick to it, and let audio guide you more than guesswork. If another team is already firing, don't rush straight in; circle wide, watch for flanks, then decide if you're here to steal the kill or just grab materials and leave. Over time you'll start recognising the "empty raid" feel versus the raids where a Bastion is clearly stomping somewhere nearby, and keeping your upgrade plan aligned with BluePrint in ARC Raiders helps you make smart calls when it's time to extract instead of gambling one more loop.
