If you want to earn extra POE2 Currency without spending hours away from the Atlas, this Waystone crafting method is worth considering. The idea is simple: spend around five minutes crafting a batch of Waystones, another five minutes listing them on the market, and then return to your regular endgame activities. This approach works as a side farm rather than a replacement for traditional mapping, allowing you to generate additional sales while continuing to enjoy the content you prefer.
Waystones are essential for players progressing through the Path of Exile 2 endgame, which gives well-crafted versions consistent market demand. Players are always looking for maps with valuable modifiers, especially those that improve monster effectiveness and Waystone drop chances. As a result, high-quality Waystones can attract buyers who want to improve their mapping efficiency.
Another advantage is that the crafting process is relatively straightforward. You do not need to master a complicated crafting system or spend an entire session preparing individual items. The method works best when you process a large batch at once, helping balance out the randomness of Vaal Orb corruption.
For this example, the target is a batch of 50 uncorrupted Tier 15 Waystones. Normal, Magic, and Rare Waystones are all suitable, so you can use whichever type is easiest or cheapest to obtain. According to the example, purchasing 50 Waystones costs approximately 50 Vaal Orbs, although market prices and transaction fees can vary. Rare Waystones may require less currency to purchase but can involve higher gold fees, while Normal and Magic versions may have different cost advantages.
Start by upgrading every Normal or Magic Waystone to Rare using Orbs of Alchemy. You can apply them quickly across the batch rather than processing each item individually. Once all 50 Waystones are Rare, use Exalted Orbs to add modifiers until each one reaches its maximum modifier count.
The example uses 92 Exalted Orbs for this stage, costing approximately 0.16 Divine Orbs. Although the Waystones now have more modifiers, their stats may not yet be attractive enough for buyers. The next stage focuses on targeting the specific modifiers that make them valuable.
The main targets are Waystone Drop Chance and Monster Effectiveness. Higher values can make a Waystone more appealing to players who want better mapping results and more efficient farming sessions.
To influence these modifiers, prepare three types of Omens:
Omen of Chaotic Rarity
Omen of Chaotic Quantity
Omen of Chaotic Monsters
You need 50 of each for a batch of 50 Waystones. In the example, purchasing the Omens costs approximately 78 Divine Orbs, making this the largest part of the initial investment. Compare market offers carefully instead of automatically accepting the listed price. Waiting for a better exchange rate can reduce your crafting expenses.
Activate all three Omens before using a Chaos Orb on a Waystone. First, test the setup on one item. The demonstrated result is approximately 85% Waystone Drop Chance and 86% Monster Effectiveness. Once you confirm the expected modifiers, repeat the process on the remaining Waystones.
Be especially careful during this stage. The Omens are consumed when the Chaos Orb is applied, so applying another Chaos Orb to the same Waystone will not repeat the process with the original Omen setup. Take your time and check each item before moving to the next one.
After all 50 Waystones have the desired modifiers, use Vaal Orbs to corrupt them. This is the final and most unpredictable stage. Corruption can produce valuable outcomes, including upgrades from Tier 15 to Tier 16, but the results depend on random chance.
This is also why crafting a larger batch is preferable to working with only a handful of Waystones. A batch of 10 items can produce disappointing results if corruption goes badly. With 50 attempts, the results have more room to balance out, although there is still no guarantee of profit.
In the demonstrated session, six Waystones became Tier 16. Each was valued at approximately 400 Vaal Orbs, or around 5.5 Divine Orbs. Some of the remaining Tier 15 Waystones also received attractive prices. Better examples were listed for roughly 45–69 Chaos Orbs, while standard versions with the target modifiers could sell for around 16 Chaos Orbs each.
Once crafting is complete, organize your Waystones by tier, modifiers, and asking price. Put similar Tier 16 Waystones together, followed by groups of Tier 15 items with matching stats. This makes it easier for buyers to compare listings and purchase several Waystones at once.
In the example, all 50 Waystones generated a reported total sale value of approximately 97.9 Divine Orbs. The six Tier 16 Waystones contributed around 34.2 Divines, while the Tier 15 items accounted for approximately 63.7 Divines. The reported crafting expenses included 76 Divines for Omens, around five Divines for Chaos Orbs, and 0.16 Divines for Exalted Orbs. Based on those figures, the estimated profit was approximately 16.74 Divines.
These numbers reflect one particular crafting session and market conditions, not guaranteed returns. Prices can change, items may take time to sell, and unlucky corruption results can reduce your earnings. Always calculate your costs before investing and avoid spending more than you can afford to risk.
Overall, this Waystone side farm offers an interesting way to make additional currency without interrupting your regular Atlas progression for too long. If you enjoy crafting and trading, it may be a useful addition to your routine. For players who prefer to spend more time mapping than managing their economy, finding efficient ways to manage resources or cheap Path of Exile 2 Orbs can also help support their endgame goals.
