New Engines, Better Balance: Why U4GM Is Watching FH6 Update 6 Closely

Forza Horizon 6 Update 6 is proving to be more than a routine collection of vehicle adjustments. While the developers officially introduced new engine swaps for existing cars, further testing has revealed additional customization options that could significantly influence competitive racing. Players interested in optimizing their garages and experimenting with powerful builds should pay attention to these changes before spending their Forza Horizon 6 Credits on upgrades. From the Mazda 787B and Furai to the Nissan GT-R and Jeep Gladiator, the update creates new possibilities for vehicles that previously struggled to compete.

Mazda 787B: Lower Power, Better Competitive Potential

One of the most surprising additions is the new engine swap for the Mazda 787B. Although the alternative engine reduces the car's horsepower, this apparent downgrade can actually become an advantage when building for specific performance classes. By combining the engine swap with all-wheel drive and carefully selected tires, players can adjust the car's Performance Index (PI) and create a setup suited to S1-class competition.

The centrifugal supercharger adds another layer to the tuning process. In one tested configuration, it provides approximately 64 additional horsepower while adding a small amount of weight and changing the car's PI. More power does not necessarily mean a faster lap, so players need to consider how the complete setup performs on the track rather than judging it by horsepower alone.

Early competitive testing suggests that the updated 787B can challenge established S1-class vehicles. Its potential is particularly noticeable when compared with ordinary cars in the same class. However, its real strength depends on the selected build, driving conditions, and the driver's ability to manage its handling.

Mazda Furai Brings New Possibilities to S2 Racing

The Mazda Furai benefits from a similar approach, with its new V6 engine swap offering an alternative route to a competitive S2 build. By lowering the car's performance rating and then adding a centrifugal supercharger and high-grip tires, players can create a combination that delivers impressive results.

Soft-compound slick tires are particularly interesting because they provide substantial grip. This allows the Furai to maintain speed through corners and potentially outperform older builds. Early testing indicates that it can challenge previously dominant options, including vehicles that once seemed difficult to beat.

Nevertheless, it is too early to declare the Furai the definitive S2 meta car. Update 6 is still relatively new, and more testing is needed to determine which combinations perform consistently across different tracks. The more important development is that players now have additional competitive choices instead of relying on a single dominant vehicle.

Ginetta Remains Powerful, but Its Handling Has Trade-Offs

The Ginetta lineup continues to demonstrate why grip and stability are so valuable in competitive racing. These cars can maintain impressive cornering speeds and accelerate earlier than expected, making them dangerous opponents in S1 and S2 events.

However, their exceptional grip can also make them feel less agile. Some drivers may experience understeer, particularly in tighter corners, and the cars may not respond as quickly as more nimble alternatives. Players who prefer responsive handling will need to adapt their driving style to get the most out of these vehicles.

Despite these limitations, Ginettas remain strong contenders. Their performance, alongside the updated Mazdas, suggests that Update 6 is expanding the range of viable cars rather than simply replacing one dominant vehicle with another.

Nissan VQ Engine Swaps Give the GT-R a Fresh Start

Nissan vehicles and selected Lexus models have also received new VQ engine options. These swaps are especially interesting for players who want to bring previously overlooked cars into competitive events.

The Nissan GT-R is a notable example. With a different engine, a carefully managed PI rating, and suitable supporting upgrades, the GT-R can become a more convincing A-class contender. Testing against the Chevrolet Camaro suggests that the Nissan has strong braking and cornering capabilities, allowing it to gain ground through technical sections.

The GT-R does have weaknesses. It can feel slippery and less predictable than some rivals, meaning drivers must learn how to control it under braking and acceleration. Even so, the new engine options give the car a fresh opportunity to compete rather than leaving it behind more popular choices.

Hidden Tire Options Add More Tuning Flexibility

Engine swaps are not the only changes worth investigating. Several vehicles reportedly have additional tire options that were not clearly highlighted in the official update notes. These include the Hennessey Venom, Ferrari SF90, and Lamborghini Centenario.

Depending on the vehicle, players may discover semi-slick tires, racing slicks, or softer-compound alternatives. These options can improve grip and provide new ways to build cars for specific events.

There is an important trade-off, however. High-grip tires are not always efficient in terms of PI, so installing them may limit the points available for other upgrades. Players should test different combinations to determine whether the additional cornering performance justifies the cost in their chosen class.

Jeep Gladiator: A Surprisingly Competitive V10 Build

The Jeep Gladiator may be the update's most unexpected success story. By installing the Dodge Viper V10 engine, adding a centrifugal supercharger, and combining off-road tires with all-wheel drive, players can transform the truck into a powerful racing option.

One tested setup reaches approximately 880 horsepower. The engine provides a substantial power increase, while the supercharger adds even more performance for a relatively modest PI increase. Despite its weight and relatively low rev limit, the Gladiator offers impressive stability and traction.

A vehicle that previously struggled to compete can now deliver much stronger results in suitable conditions. This demonstrates how thoughtful engine swaps and supporting upgrades can transform a car's role within the game's performance classes.

Better Balance Is More Important Than More Cars

The biggest lesson from Update 6 is that competitive variety matters more than simply adding another vehicle to the roster. The Mazda 787B, Furai, Nissan GT-R, Ginetta, and Jeep Gladiator each offer different strengths, and none should automatically be considered unbeatable before more extensive testing.

A healthier racing environment gives players more freedom to choose vehicles they enjoy while remaining competitive. Better class balance, improved online matchmaking, and the potential introduction of ranked racing could have a greater long-term impact than additional cosmetic kits or new cars alone.

Ultimately, Update 6 appears to be a meaningful step toward a more varied competitive experience. Players who experiment with engine swaps, tire choices, and PI management may discover effective builds that suit their own driving styles. With continued testing and smarter tuning, buy Forza Horizon 6 Boosting can become less about chasing one supposedly unbeatable car and more about developing the skills and setups needed to compete consistently.
