If your ARC Raiders run has suddenly hit the brakes, Surveyor Vaults are probably the reason. They gate early upgrades and they don't show up in random cupboards or easy chests, so the grind feels personal. A lot of players try to out-loot the map and waste time doing it. You're better off planning for a fight, packing light, and keeping an eye on your stash of ARC Raiders Coins so you can stay geared without turning every raid into a full reset.
The cleanest farm is still the ARC Surveyor. Big floating orb, loud presence, and that blue scan beam that punches into the sky. On open zones like Blue Gate or the Dam Battlegrounds, you'll see it from miles away if you're looking up between cover lines. Don't stroll over. Sprint, cut angles, and start the engagement before it drifts off. If you're solo, bring something that staggers: grenades, high-impact bursts, anything that makes it pause. Once it drops, don't just click the obvious core and leave. Walk the debris. Check each armor chunk on the ground because vaults love hiding in the scrap pieces, not the "main" body.
Sometimes they don't spawn where you want, or a squad tags them first and you're stuck watching the beam disappear. That's when I pivot to ARC Couriers. They're smaller drones with that smoky black look, and they can cough up vaults more often than people give them credit for. Your best window is during world events, especially Electromagnetic Storms. Storm hits, the map gets messy, and that's good for farming. Head to a high-traffic loot zone like the Scrapyard on the Dam map, listen for drone movement, and pick off Couriers as they rotate through. It's not calm, but it's consistent if you keep moving.
The moment you see a Surveyor Vault in the loot panel, shove it into your Safe Pocket. Not "after I clear." Not "after I reload." Right then. The RNG can be cruel: three clean kills and nothing, then the fourth finally pays out and you get clipped on the way to extract. Night raids can help too. That blue scan beam is basically a lighthouse in the dark, and you can track it while staying low. If you're running low on kit and don't want to gamble your only good loadout, a lot of players top up through RSVSR for game currency and items so they can keep attempting runs without feeling broke.
