If you’ve spent a little time nosing around Stella Montis, you’ll know how quickly a Shredder can turn a calm patrol into pure chaos. They’re brutal, fast, and unforgiving—one wrong move and your whole team’s gone in seconds. I once watched a guy get overconfident, step out from cover, and boom—gone before he could reload. In ARC Raiders BluePrint, the Shredder’s not something you trade punches with. That rotating shotgun barrage hits in every direction, so if you’re standing in the open, you’re basically signing your own death slip. First rule? Keep solid cover between you and it at all times.
They may look like mini-tanks, but they’ve got a weakness—those thrusters. If you can drop one out, you’ll knock it off balance and send it crashing to the ground. Don’t let that fool you though. Even grounded, they’ll still fire. The range is shorter and angles get clumsy, but rushing in here is a rookie’s mistake. Keep your distance, get some heavy damage lined up, and aim for that critical spot again if needed.
Once it’s down, fire and explosives make all the difference. A grenade works fine, but a Fireball Burner melts that armour quick. And if you’re loaded with resources, a Wolfpack Grenade will end it instantly—but that’s pricey. Most of the time, heavy penetration rifles like the Anvil or Ferro do the trick. Forget light or mid-tier ammo; it just pings off the plating, and all you’ll do is anger the thing.
Here’s the catch—taking on a Shredder is loud. Loud enough that other players will hear and come sniffing around for an easy kill. If you catch movement nearby, don’t panic. Toss a Lure Grenade at their position, and the Shredder will turn on them instead. That’s your window to dart out, loop around, or even watch the chaos unfold from a safe angle.
The loot’s worth it—a Shredder Gyro and recyclable mats can fetch decent coin—but really, surviving the point of interest is the main win. Knowing how to handle them, and when to let BluePrint in ARC Raiders guide your loadout choices, lets you walk away alive—and that’s the real prize in Stella Montis.
